David J. Domeier, CPA serves as a member of the company’s Advisory Board. David served from 1995 to 2000 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Aureal Inc., a semiconductor and software provider of 3-D audio technology for the PC marketplace. Prior to that he served in a number of senior financial positions with Safeway Inc., one of the largest grocery retailers in the world. He was Senior Vice President and Corporate controller for several years, as well as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of the Northern California Retail Division, Safeway’s largest operating division. Before joining Safeway, David served as Controller for The Robert A. McNeil Corporation, a national real estate syndication and property management firm, and Cambridge Plan International, a diet products company. He earned his CPA certification while employed by Deloitte and Touche in San Francisco. David is an active independent investor and teaches Business classes at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, California.
Phil Shelp serves as a member of the company’s Advisory Board. He has over 25 years of experience in sales and marketing, over half of it in the technology sector. Phil has more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing as a senior manager on both the agency and client side. Before founding Marketing Group West, he served as general manager at FMG Marketing, where he helped transform a $2 million agency into a $12 million agency by acquiring such industry-leading clients as Ascend Communications (now part of Lucent Technologies), National Semiconductor and ChevronTexaco. Prior to his agency career, Phil served as a sales and marketing manager for a range of companies in the medical industry, including American Hospital Supply, Vitaphore, TheraTx, and Cardiovascular Concepts. His experience in that industry includes managing product planning and marketing for a $30 million line of medical products, developing markets in 13 states for complex new products and services, and managing all aspects of regional sales operations. Phil has positioned Marketing Group West as an extension of each client’s marketing department, able to deliver highly cost-effective, strategic communications programs that influence perceptions, strengthen brands, and boost sales.
Mike Phillips, JD - Mike served as Senior VP of Business Development and General Counsel of JDS Uniphase from 1998 to 2002 during which time Mike completed over 30 mergers and acquisitions with an aggregate value in excess of $50 billion. Prior to JDS Uniphase, Mike served as a Senior partner at Morrison & Foerster, an international law firm based in San Francisco, from 1988 to 1998, specializing in corporate law. Clients that Mike incorporated and took public included BEA Systems, Informatica, Photon Dynamics, Micrel Semiconductor, Infinity Financial Technology, Novellus Systems, Pericom Semiconductor and Uniphase. Mike received his JD from UC Berkeley (Boalt Hall) in 1976 and obtained his undergraduate degree from Stanford.
